group therapy

Group therapy is an extremely powerful tool in creating healthy self-esteem, working through interpersonal communication issues, and learning appropriate behavioral responses. Groups focus on participant's issues, providing participants with opportunities difficult to replicate in individual treatment. Simply by sharing within a group environment, participants realize that they are not alone in their struggles and that the thoughts and behaviors that may have created isolation and shame in their own lives aren't uncommon.

Group therapy also helps participants give and receive honest feedback in a safe and nurturing environment. Participants are encouraged to share their struggles and to discuss the changes that they are creating in their own lives.  Other group members can weigh in, giving encouragement, challenge preconceptions, and share their own successes and failures, providing context and personal experiences. Dr. Warren provides structure and guidance for therapy groups focused on any issue that may arise during the session.
